Are these courses for you?
These courses focus in detail on the programme you choose - Word, Excel, Access, Outlook or Power point. They are easy-paced and detailed - nothing is missed. We provided you with a full printed manual which you get to keep on completion at no extra cost.

When you complete the course you can feel confident you know your chosen subject. Many students wish to have a detailed and thorough knowledge of one of the MS Office suite programs. These courses allow you to do that. You start at any level at which you feel comfortable and progress from there. There is no need to start right at the beginning.

How long does it take?
Each course/programme level is 6 hours over 3 weeks including one weekly tutored hour.
Choose any or several of the programs. and the levels you require and we'll put a package together just to suit you. It is not required you do lower levels first. You can start at any level you feel comfortable.
What can you do after the course:
We will award you a certificate of competency on completion of each course and level. You will be confident that you earned it and feel happy to demonstrate your abilities to an employer or to tackle the task that required you to study the programme.

Basic computer competency and reasonable familiarity with the Windows desktop environment. Included in the course are all study materials, software and even all the computer equipment if you can come to our Palma centre.
What will you gain?
Safety and security whilst using the Net including latest anti-virus and anti-SPAM techniques. Skilled ability to search and retrieve whatever material you need from the Web. Full competence with eMail both on and offline, forwarders, auto-responders, and rock-solid encryption of sensitive data. internet shopping with safe use of credit cards and other reliable methods of payment. Downloading of freeware and shareware, newsgroups and forums. A broad and safe all round introduction to modern networking.
What will you study?
Simple introductory concepts of networking - basic LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, POP and SMTP. Connecting to the Net, browsers (MS IE6, Netscape 7, Firefox), MS Outlook and off-line eMail, various online eMail systems both free and commercial. Search engines (Yahoo, Google and AltaVista). PGP encryption and simple steganography (hiding text/data in graphics).
